Tax Director- Trust & Estate
New York, NY or Woodcliff, NJ | Hybrid
This is an opportunity for a seasoned Trust & Estate professional to take on a meaningful leadership role while continuing to work directly with sophisticated high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and estates. The position combines advanced tax planning, client advisory, technical leadership, and team development, with the opportunity to help shape and grow the practice.
Qualities:
* 10+ years of public accounting experience focused on Trust & Estate taxation.
* Active CPA or EA required (MST, JD, or LLM in Taxation is a plus).
* Deep knowledge of fiduciary, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax.
* Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and estates.
* Strong leadership, relationship-building, and communication skills.
* Ability to work in-office at least 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
* Advise clients on estate, gift, trust, and wealth transfer planning strategies.
* Review complex fiduciary, estate, and gift tax returns while ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
* Partner with attorneys, wealth advisors, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive planning solutions.
* Mentor and develop team members while overseeing engagement quality and deadlines.
* Build client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and stay ahead of changing tax legislation.
