Personal Care Assistant PCA

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in providing compassionate support to individuals who need assistance with daily living activities. This position involves working independently as well as part of a home care team, reporting directly to a nurse or supervisor. The PCA helps enhance clients’ quality of life through personal care, safety monitoring, and companionship, with opportunities for advancement to senior PCA roles or specialization in elderly and disability care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Prepare meals according to nutritional needs
• Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean environment
• Provide medication reminders and monitor client safety
• Support mobility needs, including transfers and ambulation
• Offer companionship and emotional support

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in personal care
• Certification in personal care assistance
