Overview
A Technician II has a basic understanding of laboratory operations. This person is self-motivated, can follow instructions and can complete routine assignments with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities
- Install and remove parts / components pertaining to medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Monitor basic tests and record observations or issues.
- Operate basic lab equipment such as parts washer, power washer, truck hoist, trailer jack, in-ground scales

- Work safely in compliance with Cummins safety guidelines.
- Maintain orderly work area in accordance with Meritor standards.
Job Requirements
- Education
- Technical degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and/or automotive background.
- Skills
- Proficient with personal computers, Microsoft Excel/Word.
- Mechanical ability.
- Blueprint reading.
- Understanding of measurement techniques (torque wrenches, dial indicators).
- Able to communicate effectively with customers.
- Other
- Willingness to work overtime / weekends as needed.
- Possibility of 20% Travel, able to travel both domestic and international.
- Maintain attendance within corporate guidelines.
- Willingness to learn new skills
- To possess or willing to obtain a CDL.
- To possess or willing to obtain necessary hand tools to perform the at hand tasks (Standard and Metric sockets and wrenches up to 1”/24MM, rachets, pliers, prybars, allen wrenches, screw drivers, ECT).

- Ability to lift 40 lbs and push/pull 150 lbs.

**Additional Manager notes**
This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience in the trucking, automotive, or mechanical industry, or for someone who is mechanically inclined and interested in working with heavy-duty vehicles. The Test Technician will be responsible for installing and removing components from trucks and trailers, assisting with vehicle testing and evaluations, and working with engineering teams to complete assigned tasks. Experience with air brake systems is highly preferred.
The position involves working both indoors and outdoors, moving trucks and trailers as needed, and operating vehicles on and off the hoist. A Class A CDL is required or must be obtained before transitioning into a Full Time role, and candidates must be willing to obtain their CDL.
A typical day begins with arriving for work and participating in team meetings, followed by receiving assigned tasks. The technician will work closely with engineering to understand the testing plan and expectations, perform the required work on vehicles, and ensure all assigned tasks are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. The interview process will begin with a phone interview, followed by an in-person interview for candidates who move forward in the process.
