Shortek Edmonton Inc has an immediate opening for journeymen welder to join our team. He/she will assist in the manufacturing and assembly of various steel projects including pilings and shoring.

Job Description:

Assist in the manufacture of various steel products for pilings and shoring;

Operate tools and equipment;

Follow weld procedures to ensure quality products are manufactured at all times;

Producing top quality products while meeting project deadlines;

Work in the shop and travel to site locations when needed;

Perform any other duties which may be assigned based on the company’s requirements.

Job Requirements:

Work as part of a team or individually as required;

Travel and extended stays for some worksites is required; LOA provided

Ensure that the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times;

Applicant must be reliable, committed, and dedicated;

Applicant must adhere to all company policies including health and safety;

This is a long term permanent full-time position;

Preference will be given to candidates with the following Certifications: First Aid and WHIMIS

Local (within 1hr)

DRUG & ALCOHOL TEST MAY BE REQUIRED

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $25-$34 per hour

Additional pay:

• Overtime pay
• LOA for out of town projects

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as required

Experience:

• Welding 2 year minimum

License/Certification:

• CWB Certification (required)
• CSTS
