HVAC Technician (1099)

Lone Star Facility Management LLC is seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Technician (1099) to provide commercial HVAC maintenance and repair services as an independent contractor. The contractor will manage company-dispatched assignments with technical oversight from the facilities manager, servicing rooftop units, split systems, refrigeration and cooling equipment, and mixed commercial systems. This role requires dependable transportation, professional customer communication, accurate documentation, and frequent availability for emergency or after-hours calls.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC maintenance and service on rooftop units, split systems, refrigeration and cooling equipment, and mixed commercial systems
• Respond to and manage company-dispatched HVAC assignments under the technical oversight of the facilities manager
• Troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems and identify effective repair solutions
• Prepare accurate service estimates, invoices, and parts and labor reports
• Complete quality inspections using required inspection checklists
• Communicate professionally with customers throughout each service call
• Manage schedules and service documentation using HVAC service software
• Submit service notes and photos, inspection checklists, customer sign-offs, and completion documentation after each job
• Respond to frequent emergency and after-hours service calls

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in HVAC service and repair
• HVAC technical training or completion of a vocational program
• EPA Section 608 certification
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Experience troubleshooting HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Proficiency with HVAC service software and technical documentation
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
