Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Angiography with 1-2 years of vascular or interventional experience for a hospital-based Angio lab.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit performing Angiography procedures including scrubbing, technique setting, and imaging
- Duties include circulating, scrub, and monitoring tech roles per Angio lab policies and Scope of Practice documents
- Assists with SIRT mapping/treatments, embolizations, nephrostomy and biliary tube placements, CT-guided procedures (drains, biopsies, ablations), and Neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures
- 4x10 hour day shifts
- Uses Epic for charting
- Personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) required
Requirements
- 1-2 years of vascular or interventional experience required
- ARRT (R) certification and BLS required
- Active state license required if applicable
- AHA certifications must not expire prior to start date
- Vascular/Interventional Radiography certification preferred
- Strong understanding of anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency
- Knowledge of infection control and sterile techniques
- Competency in patient identification protocols and accurate documentation
- Experience operating imaging equipment and performing angiography procedures
- Ability to recognize and respond to emergent patient situations
- Ability to provide life support in emergency situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Information
- Responsible for patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation
- Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment
- Develops knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies and their proper use
- Provides patient education and addresses patient/family concerns
- Performs sheath suturing or removal and applies pressure for hemostasis
- Maintains work area, stocks supplies, and transports patients as needed
- Coordinates care and communicates with other providers post-procedure
- Returning employees must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a new travel assignment
