Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Angiography with 1-2 years of vascular or interventional experience for a 13-week assignment.

Details

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology department within a hospital setting
  • 4x10 hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech according to Angio lab policies

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of vascular or interventional experience required
  • Current ARRT (R) certification and BLS required
  • Active state license required if applicable
  • Vascular/Interventional Radiography certification preferred
  • Personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) required for this assignment
  • Demonstrates competency in patient care, patient identification protocols, and infection control
  • Demonstrates experience in radiography, operating imaging equipment, and angiography procedures
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to provide life support in emergency situations

Additional Information

  • Perform angiography procedures including scrubbing, setting techniques, and taking images
  • Operate IR equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation
  • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
  • Develop knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies and their applications
  • Provide patient education and address patient and family concerns
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures performed and any adverse reactions or incidents
  • Coordinate patient care and communicate with other care providers post-procedure
  • Suture or remove sheaths and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis at end of procedure
  • Maintain work area and stock supplies as needed
  • Transport patients as needed
  • Assist with SIRT mapping/treatments, embolizations, nephrostomy and biliary tube placements
  • Assist with CT guided procedures including drains, biopsies, and ablations
  • Perform Neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures
  • Permanent staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before eligibility for a travel assignment
