Job Summary:
The CT Technologist (CT) located in the healthcare setting performs a variety of computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role leverages technical expertise, independent judgment, and professionalism to produce high-quality imaging results aligned with department protocols and safety guidelines.
Job Details:
- Required Qualifications: Certification as a Basic Life Support (BLS) provider, ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R), licensure in the state of practice as applicable, associate degree in radiologic technology, and 0 years of experience.
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Demonstrates mastery in sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, positioning, and proficiency in operating CT equipment and image manipulation.
- Understands and applies protocols related to contrast media administration, contrast injector operation, and electronic imaging.
- Recognizes emergent patient situations and can respond appropriately.
- Capable of functioning both independently and as part of a team, with effective communication and task prioritization skills.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assists and instructs students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
- Follows all infection control, sterile techniques, and safety guidelines, ensuring accurate documentation and patient care coordination.
- Participates in continuing education to stay current with advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols.
- Administers contrast media per protocol under physician supervision and provides patient education regarding safety.
