Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist requiring ARRT (R) certification and an Associate degree for a hospital-based Computed Tomography department.
Details
- Work in the Computed Tomography department of a hospital setting
- Variable 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week across 3 days per week
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Associate degree required
- Current BLS and ARRT (R) certification required
- Licensure in state of practice required, if applicable
- 1+ year of CT experience in a hospital setting required
- Proficiency in operating CT equipment, imaging techniques, and protocols
- Knowledge of contrast administration protocols and contrast injector operation
- Proficiency with electronic imaging, including image viewing, transfer, and manipulation
- Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergent patient situations
- Strong understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency
Additional Information
- Perform a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes
- Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation
- Perform exams per department protocol and review images for quality and accuracy
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
- Complete studies within department time expectations without compromising care or quality
- Provide patient education and address patient or family concerns
- Coordinate patient care and communicate pertinent information to other providers
- Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions
- Administer contrast media under physician or radiologist supervision as ordered
- Assist and instruct students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols and procedures
- Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical job functions
- Permanent staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before eligibility for this travel assignment
