Job Description
Make a real impact by supporting students’ diverse needs as an experienced Occupational Therapist in a dynamic school community near Newark, DE. This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, offering both full-time and part-time flexibility (up to 37.5 hours/week). In this role, you’ll collaborate with educational teams and provide essential therapy services both in a school setting and, as needed, for students requiring homebound care due to medical needs.
What we’re looking for:
- Active Delaware Occupational Therapist license (required at time of submission)
- Experience working with children in educational or pediatric settings, ideally in schools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to inclusive education
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to students’ homes within the district if needed
- Ability to adapt to changing caseloads and work both independently and as a team member
- Up-to-date resume detailing relevant OT and school-based experience
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students within the school and provide homebound support as assigned
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans focused on educational access and success
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and student support specialists
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports throughout the year
- Support students in developing fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional classroom participation
