Job Description
The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates specialized machinery to support erosion control services on project sites. This role includes transporting equipment, performing routine inspections, and working closely with project teams, vendors, and customers to ensure high-quality and timely completion of work.
Responsibilities- Operate specialized heavy equipment to perform erosion control services on various project sites.
- Safely operate machinery such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, and front-end loaders as required by each project.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure machinery remains in safe working condition.
- Transport heavy equipment to and from job sites in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices while performing work in the field.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, vendors, and clients to coordinate project activities and meet project timelines.
- Communicate professionally with customers on job sites, addressing questions and providing updates as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around equipment and project sites to support safe operations.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and project challenges promptly to the appropriate team members.
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, and front-end loaders.
- Experience operating agricultural equipment or similar machinery.
- Ability to follow established safety procedures and industry best practices while working with heavy equipment.
- Strong awareness of equipment safety and ability to perform routine inspections.
- Capability to transport heavy equipment to and from job sites in a safe and compliant manner.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, vendors, and customers on job sites.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a project team to achieve successful project completion.
- Background in construction or erosion control work environments.
- Comfort working with a variety of heavy machinery and adapting to different project needs.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to recognize equipment issues and support routine maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills to manage equipment, tools, and work areas on multiple job sites.
- Professional demeanor when communicating with customers and external partners.

Work EnvironmentWork takes place primarily outdoors in non-temperature-controlled environments that can be dirty, hot, and physically demanding. Employees should be prepared for variable weather conditions, uneven terrain, and hands-on field work that requires appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment in line with company safety standards.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilson, AR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
