Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager

Job Summary/Company: A leading employee-owned engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Project Manager to support its growing Knoxville, Tennessee practice. This senior seller-doer position combines technical leadership, project management, client relationship development, and mentoring. The position requires working from the Knoxville office four days per week, with one remote day and travel based on client and project needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical engineering and construction-oversight projects, managing technical quality, scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and profitability.
• Serve as a trusted client advisor while supporting proposals, presentations, business development, and growth throughout Tennessee and the surrounding region.
• Mentor junior professionals and collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams across a national network of offices.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license required; an active Tennessee PE is strongly preferred, although candidates licensed in another state who can obtain Tennessee registration may be considered.
• Significant geotechnical engineering experience, including demonstrated project work in Tennessee and expertise in areas such as foundations, slope stability, retaining walls, ground improvement, geohazards, or construction oversight.
• Ability to work onsite in Knoxville four days per week and willingness to travel to client meetings and project sites as needed.
