School Occupational Therapist | New Castle, Delaware

Step into a fulfilling contract position supporting students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist within a dynamic school-based environment near New Castle, DE. This engaging role runs from late August 2026 through early June 2027 and offers the unique opportunity to assist both in a school setting as well as with medically homebound students. The work week consists of 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for full-time or part-time scheduling to fit your needs.

Preferred candidates thrive with diverse caseloads and adapt quickly as student needs shift throughout the academic year. When not working with homebound students, on-site assignments at a school building will be determined based on the district’s requirements. Caseload sizes fluctuate but are manageable, and homebound student numbers are typically low.

Qualifications:

• Active State of Delaware Occupational Therapist license required
• Previous school-based OT experience is preferred
• Ability to serve both in-person at school sites and with homebound students within the community
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Passion for working with K-12 students with varying needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services as assigned, both at school locations and in homebound settings
• Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families to develop and implement individualized plans
• Evaluate and document student progress, maintaining thorough records
