Referral Processing - Patient Access Representative

Contract Location: Houston, TX 77024  Shift: Mon - Fri 8:30a-5p

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a Experienced Referral Processing - Patient Access Representative for a temporary 3 month contract position. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of current experience with Referral Processing. Some hospital or doctor's office setting helpful. Possess strong multitasking and communication skills. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a smooth patient experience by handling scheduling, insurance verification, referral experience, while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred

• Current 2 years of experience in a Call Center setting

• Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Proficient typing and keyboarding skills

• Current TB Skin Test or Chest X-ray (or willing to get)

Principal Accountabilities:

• Referral Processing

• Demographic & Financial Information: Collect and enter demographic, insurance, and financial data with a high level of accuracy.

• Form Explanation & Signature Collection: Clearly explain required forms and obtain necessary patient or guarantor signatures.

• Insurance Verification: Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, ensuring all authorizations and notifications are completed within required timeframes.

• Account Monitoring & Resolution: Review and resolve patient account issues in a timely manner.

• Professional Communication: Maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, insurance companies, patients, and families.

• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
