About the RoleWe're seeking a skilled Spot Weld Setup Technician to join our sheet metal fabrication team at our Eagan location. In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining spot welding equipment to ensure high-quality welds on sheet metal components. You'll work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to keep operations running smoothly and safely. 2nd shift, hours are from 3:15pm - 1:45am, Monday - Thursday.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up spot welding machines according to job specifications, blueprints, and work ordersSelect appropriate electrodes, fixtures, and welding parameters based on material type and thicknessPerform first-piece inspections and verify quality using measurement toolsOperate spot welding equipment efficiently while maintaining product quality and consistencyTroubleshoot and adjust weld settings to resolve quality or equipment issuesDocument setups, maintenance activities, and production data as requiredWork closely with team members to meet production schedulesFollow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and shop standardsQualificationsRequired:1-3 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, welding, or related manufacturing operationsHands-on experience with spot welding equipment and toolingAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and technical instructionsStrong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skillsFamiliarity with basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periodsPreferred:Experience with multiple welding processes (TIG, MIG, projection welding)Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principlesPrior experience in a high‑mix, low‑volume production environmentWhy Join Us?Competitive pay and benefitsOpportunities for advancement and skill developmentClean, safe, and well‑equipped fabrication environmentSupportive team culture that values craftsmanship and continuous improvement
