Way Mechanical is a leading Mechanical Contractor based in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Nashville, Charlotte, and Raleigh. We specialize in commercial air conditioning, plumbing, and mechanical piping, as well as the maintenance of these systems. Way Mechanical is at the forefront of design-build/design-assist, preconstruction, commissioning, building information modeling (BIM), and quality control. We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team!
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to pass a drug test.
  • Legally eligible to work in the US.
  • High school diploma.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Proficient in the English language.
  • Expert math skills.
  • 5+ years of experience bidding HVAC and Plumbing projects.
  • Read, understand, and analyze blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately.
  • Must be willing to learn our estimating procedures.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Pre-Bid Process:
  1. Work with upper-level management to determine if projects meet company requirements.
  2. Prepare scope letters, bid forms, and required documents.
Bid Process:
  1. Maintain a Vendor/Subcontractor database.
  2. Obtain, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractors' bids.
  3. Obtain pre-qualification information from subcontractors.
Post-Bid Process:
  1. Prepare and attend Kickoff Meetings for awarded projects.
  2. Work on major equipment buyouts with the project team.
  3. Assist project managers with change order pricing and review.
  4. Archive any information as required to be useful in future estimates.
Experience:
  1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HVAC and Plumbing estimating.
