We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Reporting & General Accounting Consultant to join the Corporate Controller's organization of our client. This team is responsible for maintaining the financial books and records of the corporation and its international subsidiaries, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to work within a visible accounting function supporting month-end close, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, audit activities, regulatory requirements, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting fundamentals, analytical capabilities, and experience working in a fast-paced corporate accounting environment.
Rate: $45.00 to $45.00/hr.
Responsibilities:- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and analysis of income statement and balance sheet transactions.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records for the corporation and foreign subsidiaries.
- Prepare regulatory and financial reports in accordance with applicable requirements and internal policies.
- Coordinate and support audit activities, including provision of schedules, documentation, and variance analyses.
- Oversee vendor-related accounting activities and support process governance.
- Identify and implement process improvements, standardization, and control enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve accounting issues and ensure timely reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of corporate accounting or public accounting experience with month-end close and general ledger responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting.
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency with ERP and financial reporting tools and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience in financial services or with international subsidiaries preferred.
