Traveling Mechanical Assembler
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Location: Nationwide
Shift: All
Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join our team. In this role, you will assemble, fit, and install mechanical components and subassemblies using blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to maintain high quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to engineering specifications and production schedules.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and measuring instruments to perform assembly operations.
- Inspect parts and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues, reporting discrepancies as needed.
- Perform testing and verification of assembled products.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Follow all safety regulations and company procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet project deadlines.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Experience assembling industrial equipment, machinery, conveyors, pumps, valves, or automated systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
- Welding, fabrication, or machine shop experience is a plus.
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
