Role Summary

The Advanced Ultrasound Technologist is a highly skilled imaging professional responsible for delivering exceptional diagnostic services across multiple specialties. This role combines clinical expertise, advanced technical knowledge, and leadership to support accurate diagnoses and enhance patient outcomes.

In addition to performing a wide range of ultrasound procedures, this position serves as a trusted clinical resource, supporting team development, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement within the imaging department. Duties & ResponsibilitiesClinical Excellence
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures across multiple specialties, including OB/GYN, abdomen, breast, vascular, and small parts

  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images to support accurate clinical decision-making

  • Correlate patient history with imaging findings to ensure comprehensive clinical evaluation

Patient Care & Experience
  • Prepare and educate patients prior to procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding

  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining safety, dignity, and privacy

  • Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond appropriately to any changes

Technical Expertise
  • Select appropriate imaging equipment, transducers, and techniques based on clinical needs

  • Evaluate image quality and ensure proper documentation, labeling, and system entry

  • Assist with interventional procedures and maintain sterile technique when required

Advanced User Leadership
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in ultrasound applications, workflows, and best practices

  • Provide training and support to staff, students, and vendor representatives

  • Act as a key resource for troubleshooting, system optimization, and process improvement

Operational & Department Support
  • Support inventory management, equipment maintenance, and supply coordination

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental performance goals

  • Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring of team members

Required Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited sonography program (CAHEA or equivalent)

  • ARDMS Registered Sonographer certification

  • Oregon State licensure (OBMI)

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Minimum of two (2) years of ultrasound experience

  • Ability to perform multi-specialty ultrasound procedures

  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand clinical environment

Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced, multi-specialty ultrasound experience

  • CRASE training preferred (required if assignment exceeds six months)

  • Experience supporting interventional procedures

  • Passion for teaching, mentoring, and team development

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and imaging excellence

Location & Work Type

On-site position
Oregon
Full-time schedule: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM (40 hours per week)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Active role requiring standing, walking, and patient positioning throughout the shift

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with patient movement safely

  • Work performed in a clinical setting with exposure to medical equipment and infectious materials

  • Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability, focus, and responsiveness
