Position Summary
The Junior HSE Specialist assists in supporting health, safety, and environmental initiatives at our Tomball manufacturing facility. Working alongside Operations and HR, this entry-to-mid-level role assists with daily OSHA compliance, bilingual safety training, routine facility inspections, and initial processing of workers' compensation documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Safety Operations & Compliance Support
  • Assist with implementing and supporting facility health, safety, and environmental programs in line with OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct routine floor inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification walk-throughs.
  • Maintain safety logs, SDS documentation, chemical inventories, and general compliance records.
  • Assist in monitoring PPE inventory and coordinating vendor supplies.
Incident Reporting & Claims Support
  • Support the initial intake, reporting, and administrative documentation for workers' compensation claims.
  • Participate in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations alongside leadership to identify root causes.
  • Assist HR with gathering medical updates and tracking light-duty/return-to-work coordination.
Training & Engagement
  • Deliver bilingual (English/Spanish) safety orientations, toolbox talks, and refresher training for plant floor employees.
  • Track employee and contractor safety training completion to ensure compliance.
  • Promote a proactive, safety-first culture through continuous engagement.
Qualifications
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Required: 1–2 years of hands-on safety, administrative, or operational support experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Required: Foundational knowledge of basic OSHA standards and general workplace safety practices.
  • Preferred: OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour General Industry certification.
  • Preferred: First Aid / CPR certification.
Working Conditions
  • Active manufacturing environment with daily exposure to floor noise, dust, and temperature variations.
  • Requires regular walking, standing, bending, and wearing required PPE.
