Fitter Welder - Day Shift

Fitter WelderBaxter Springs, KS | $19.00/hour | Full-Time | Monday-Thursday | 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM Penmac Staffing is hiring a Fitter Welder for a manufacturing facility in Baxter Springs, KS. This full-time, long-term opportunity offers a four-day work week and is ideal for skilled welders who can work independently while producing high-quality fabricated components for tank system manufacturing. As a Fitter Welder, you will perform a variety of welding and fitting duties with little to no supervision. This position requires the ability to weld various types of metals and alloys in different shapes and thicknesses while maintaining quality and safety standards.Requirements for the Fitter Welder

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous welding and fitting experience required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications
• Knowledge of welding methods, fabrication techniques, and metalworking tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must successfully complete a welding test during the hiring process
• Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and drug screening
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods
• Ability to safely lift materials and components as needed

Fitter Welder Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of welding processes and methods to weld all types of metals and alloys as required for production projects
• Fit, fabricate, and weld metal components, assemblies, and structural parts according to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine project requirements
• Select appropriate welding procedures, equipment, and materials for each project
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
• Measure and align components to ensure proper fit and assembly
• Follow all company safety policies, MOPs, SWIs, and quality standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

Pay and Schedule

• Starting pay: $19.00 per hour
• Full-time position
• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Monday through Thursday
• Hours: 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM (with OT as required)
