Occupational Therapist School Setting in Chatham, VA

Exciting opportunities are available for passionate occupational therapy professionals eager to make a meaningful impact in the educational setting. These contract positions support K-12 students across the district and may involve traveling between multiple school sites, depending on student caseloads. With three openings available, dedicated OTs and COTAs can make a difference while working in a collaborative, student-centered environment. The assignment starts as soon as possible and continues through May 21, 2027, providing consistency for both you and the students you serve.

Qualifications:

• Active OT or COTA License in the state of Virginia (required)
• Experience working with school-aged children or in a school-based setting preferred
• Ability to provide services to diverse student populations across K-12
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to travel between sites as needed for coverage

Daily Responsibilities:

• Assess students and develop individualized therapy plans tailored to their needs
• Implement interventions designed to promote student participation and functional independence in school activities
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive support
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation for all students served
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing progress monitoring
• Adapt and adjust caseload strategies as student needs change
