Special Education Teacher | Arlington Heights, Illinois

In this contract assignment as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive school setting. Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement, or eligibility for IL certification in Special Education
• Previous experience with early childhood populations and students requiring special education services
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in implementing IEPs and differentiated instruction
• Knowledge of current best practices in early childhood special education
• Familiarity with progress monitoring, data collection, and reporting
• Adaptability and creativity in classroom management and lesson planning

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, adapt, and deliver instruction based on individual student IEPs
• Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings
• Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and service providers
• Establish a positive, inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and development
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians
• Utilize positive behavior strategies and age-appropriate interventions
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school-wide initiatives
