Location: Orangeburg, SC
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Assembler to join our production team in Orangeburg, SC. In this role, you will assemble, inspect, test, and prepare finished equipment for shipment while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Job DutiesAssembly & ProductionAssemble equipment and subassemblies using blueprints, work instructions, engineering drawings, and production specifications.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools to complete assembly operations accurately and efficiently.
Perform mechanical assembly tasks including bolting, wiring, fastening, aligning, adjusting, and torquing components to specification.
Pre-assemble and install components such as engines, transmissions, water pumps, blade guards, hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, and other equipment parts.
Verify proper fit, alignment, and functionality of all assembled components.
Apply decals, labels, paint touch-ups, and finishing details to meet customer and quality standards.
Assist with product modifications or customization requests as directed by production leadership.
Conduct operational testing and inspections to ensure completed products meet performance and quality standards.
Complete quality inspection documentation, checklists, and production records accurately.
Identify defects, discrepancies, or non-conforming materials and communicate findings to supervisors or quality personnel.
Participate in troubleshooting and rework activities when necessary.
Ensure all assembly work meets company specifications and customer requirements.
Prepare completed products for shipment through crating, boxing, wrapping, and securing components.
Verify products are packaged correctly and include required documentation, accessories, and parts.
Assist with moving materials, components, and finished goods throughout the production area.
Maintain inventory accuracy by reporting damaged, missing, or incorrect parts.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S principles and good housekeeping practices.
Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and quality issues promptly.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide suggestions to improve quality, efficiency, and workflow.
Support cross-training efforts and assist in other production areas as needed.
High school diploma or GED.
1-2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, maintenance, or a related field.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, work instructions, and assembly drawings.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and pneumatic equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
