Job Description
Step into a dynamic and impactful role supporting special education students as a School Psychologist in the Denver area. This contract opportunity is onsite only and offers the chance to provide essential services across multiple schools, with assignment and hours varying based on coverage needs. Flexible options are available, including placements at middle schools and elementary sites for both full-time and part-time leave coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver group and individual counseling services according to IEP goals
- Design and implement individual, group, and systemic interventions addressing academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs
- Provide mental health support in general education classrooms
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, including progress reports, service logs, and IEP goal tracking
- Collaborate closely with educators, families, and outside providers to enhance student success
- Participate in crisis management, including suicide risk and threat assessments, crisis response, and safety planning
- Conduct IEP assessments (cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, and adaptive skills) and write detailed evaluation reports
- Develop Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
- Engage in collaborative meetings, professional learning communities, behavioral health team meetings, and staff meetings
- Offer psychoeducation and professional development to staff, as well as wellness and home visits when needed
- Provide consultation on MTSS, academic/behavioral interventions, community resource coordination, and support for students with 504 plans
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s, Specialist’s, or Doctorate degree in School Psychology
- Current CDE Special Service Provider License endorsement in School Psychology
- Previous experience in a school setting required
- Strong student assessment abilities; up-to-date knowledge of school psychology practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and crisis management skills
- Proficient with technology
- Background check and fingerprinting required
