Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing exceptional special education support in a contract role near Lexington, NC. Multiple opportunities are available across elementary and middle school settings, each designed to help students thrive within general curriculum environments.
Open Positions:
- Full-time EC Resource Teacher (Elementary)
- Full-time CASE Teacher for a self-contained classroom (Elementary, specializing in communication and social engagement with students requiring maximum supports, autism and related presentations)
- Full-time EC Teacher (Middle School)
- Part-time EC Resource Teacher (Elementary, 20 hours/week: Monday–Thursday, 8:45 AM–1:45 PM, K–2 caseload)
Essential Qualifications:
- Must hold a current EC General Curriculum license (candidates with Adapted Curriculum licensure cannot be considered).
- Experience supporting K–8 students in resource or self-contained settings.
- For the CASE classroom, comfort and experience working in self-contained environments with students with autism or similar needs is required, with an emphasis on delivering the general curriculum.
- For part-time positions, strict adherence to specified schedule and hours is essential.
- Successful completion of standard district credentialing, including a background check and compliance with state EC licensure requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver special education services according to students’ IEPs within general curriculum parameters.
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families.
- Document student progress, behaviors, and instructional adaptations as mandated.
- Create inclusive, nurturing, and structured learning environments fostering student growth and self-advocacy.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
