Position: Electrical Quality Inspector - Temporary
Location: El Cajon, CA
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour
- Perform incoming inspection of components, such as machined metal shells, connectors, wire reels, and cable spools.
- Conduct electrical testing on cable, wire, and electrically testable parts with approved procedures.
- Assess and verify quantities and visual quality of incoming parts against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Review and validate supplier documentation (CoC, material/test certifications, reports, etc.).
- Authorize release of conforming materials to production and manage nonconforming material per established protocols.
- Inspect in-house manufactured cable assemblies (terminated, molded, pressure-tested), connectors, machined components, and related assemblies for conformance.
- Execute electrical and dimensional testing per test reports, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria.
- Review product against customer/end-user specifications, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD, internal drawings, and contractual requirements.
- Audit production and QA documentation for completeness, traceability, and correctness.
- Record and report inspection results, supporting investigations and corrective action recommendations where necessary.
- Accurately read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for cables, connectors, and precision components.
- Operate and maintain a range of test and measurement equipment (HIPOT testers, Megger, multimeters, calipers, tape measures, etc.).
- Ensure equipment calibration and suitability for all inspection/testing activities.
- Identify, document, and segregate defects; support repair/rework activities as required.
- Digitally scan and organize Quality documentation per company retention standards.
- Assist Quality Assurance with additional tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing inspection, specifically with cable assemblies, connectors, or precision/electrical components.
- Electrical inspection experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Proficient in using electrical test equipment (HIPOT, Megger, multimeters) and dimensional tools (calipers, tape measures).
- Able to interpret drawings, schematics, purchase orders, and QA documentation.
- Basic computer literacy (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel); able to scan and manage digital records.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and independent problem-solving skills.
- Must be local to the El Cajon, CA area and able to reliably commute for an onsite role.
- Thorough knowledge of quality control and inspection principles for electronics manufacturing.
- Capable of selecting and adapting standard procedures to varied inspection tasks.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work under general supervision.
- Effective communicator; able to escalate issues as appropriate and work collaboratively within a team.
