This role offers an opportunity to work as a Chemical Compounder in a laboratory and manufacturing environment, producing high-quality batches of products in accordance with detailed formulation sheets and standard operating procedures (SOPs). You will weigh, mix, and blend ingredients to exact specifications, support quality control, and ensure all raw materials and finished batches meet internal standards and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with other compounders, lab technicians, and supervisors as part of a small, supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Follow formulation sheets and SOPs to prepare and compound batches of products accurately and consistently.
- Weigh, measure, and mix raw materials and ingredients to ensure precise quantities and proper blending.
- Operate mixing, blending, and batch-making equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Receive, inspect, and verify raw materials to ensure they comply with company SOPs and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming raw materials and outgoing finished batches, including lot numbers, quantities, and any deviations.
- Monitor batches during production to support quality control, identifying and reporting any issues or irregularities.
- Work collaboratively with lab technicians, other compounders, and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area in compliance with SOPs and safety guidelines.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards throughout all stages of production and documentation.
- Assist in general production tasks and support other team members as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and use appropriate techniques when handling chemicals and equipment.
Essential Skills
- 5–15 years of experience in GMP manufacturing, ideally in personal care or nutraceuticals; experience in cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods manufacturing is also suitable.
- Hands-on experience with chemical compounding, batch making, mixing, blending, and production processes.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and their application in a manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to convert kilograms to grams (for example, 1 kg = 100 grams).
- Physical ability to lift 75–100 pounds as part of daily duties.
- Ability to follow detailed directions, formulation sheets, and SOPs accurately.
- Demonstrated reliability, self-motivation, and willingness to support team objectives.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate of Science (AS) degree is a plus.
- Experience in personal care, nutraceutical, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods manufacturing environments.
- Experience working as part of a collaborative production or laboratory team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards.
- Positive attitude and willingness to help out wherever needed within the department.
Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing environment where you will work closely with lab technicians and supervisors as part of a small team of approximately 6–8 people. The facility is highly organized and operates strictly in accordance with SOPs and safety regulations. You will be expected to maintain a clean, orderly workspace and carefully track all incoming raw materials and outgoing inventory. The standard schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and one 15-minute paid break. The role involves regular interaction with production equipment, chemicals, and batch mixing processes in a structured, safety-focused setting. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.03 - $31.25/hr.
