American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring a CO or compact RN license and at least 7 years of experience.
Details\n- \n
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital's birth center \n
- Provide direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and to newborns \n
- Prepare for C-sections and inductions \n
- Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am \n
- 36 hours per week \n
- May rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs \n
- On-call required \n
- \n
- Active CO or compact RN license required \n
- Current CPR certification required \n
- Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS required within one year of employment \n
- Minimum 7 years of nursing experience required \n
- Obstetrics care experience preferred \n
- Knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and mother/infant nursing care essentials \n
- Skilled in sterile technique and infection control principles \n
- Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations \n
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with a wide variety of people \n
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and perform heavy lifting \n
- Willingness to work in environments with exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases \n

- Perform assessments and monitor the labor process with proper documentation of nursing care \n
- Administer IV medications and adhere to infection control principles and OB department policies \n
- Prepare delivery rooms, provide emotional support to patients, and coordinate transfers \n
- Provide patient education during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum care including infant care \n
- Reports directly to the Birth Center Manager \n
