• Beds: 8
\n
• Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? No, unless it is specific to L&D
\n
• Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, with L&D experience
\n
• Travelers must live >100 miles away from facility
\n
• Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
\n
• Patient Types:\n
  \n
  • L&D, postpartum, Antepartum, Newborns, Infants <28 days old
  \n
  • Level 2A Nursery – will care for sick babies
  \n
  • Gyn-Surgicals/Mastectomy post-op – preferred experience – if candidate is not comfortable with these, other staff may be able to take
  \n
\n
• Patient Ratios:\n
  \n
  • Laboring: 1:2
  \n
  • Couplets: 1:3-4
  \n
\n
• Required Certifications:\n
  \n
  • BLS, ACLS, NRP
  \n
\n
• Required Education:\n
  \n
  • Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing;  Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
  \n
\n
• Skills required:\n
  \n
  • EFM interpretation and intervention, adult and neonatal assessment skills
  \n
\n
• Charting System: Epic
\n
• Floating Required:\n
  \n
  • Med/surg – as helping hands/in the role of a CNA
  \n
  • Could be floated within scope of practice and below
  \n
\n
• Orientation: (facility and unit)\n
  \n
  • Per experience-traveler nurse, typically 1 week
  \n
\n
• Scheduling:\n
  \n
  • Weekend rotation: every other weekend
  \n
  • Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? LOC per census and LOC rotation
  \n
  • Holiday Expectations: 3 holidays scheduled, 1 on-call, rotating schedule
  \n
  • Approval of time off? 2 gold tickets/year and request off before next schedule is posted
  \n
