Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and ARDMS certification to perform general and OB/GYN ultrasound procedures.

  • Hospital-based Ultrasound department with a strong focus on female-related and OB/GYN scans
  • \n
  • 36/48 schedule rotating with one week of 3x12 shifts and the next week of 4x12 shifts, totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
  • \n
  • Day shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • \n
  • On-call requirements of 2 shifts per week and 2 weekends per month
  • \n
  • Float required within scope of practice
  • \n
  • Performs general ultrasound imaging including abdominal, biliary, renal, small parts, and vascular studies
  • \n
  • Performs OB/GYN scans including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester studies, fetal anatomical survey, and amniotic fluid index
  • \n
  • Performs ultrasound-guided biopsy and fine needle aspiration procedures
  • \n
  • Uses GE Logiq ultrasound equipment and PACS imaging system
  • \n
  • Meditech charting system experience preferred
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ultrasound/sonography required
  • \n
  • ARDMS certification required
  • \n
  • Active compact or state license in hand required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
  • \n
  • Experience with general ultrasound and biopsy procedures required
  • \n
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • \n
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced hospital setting with adult and pediatric patient populations
  • \n
  • 2 professional references required, including one from a charge nurse or higher and one from a supervisor, both completed within the last year
  • \n
  • Valid driver's license required, with address matching permanent residence
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
  • \n
  • Facility will consider up to 7 days of RTO, which must be requested upfront with no changes accepted
  • \n
  • Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
  • \n
  • Minimal traveler pairs accepted; pairs will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
  • \n
  • Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break from the system after completing a one-year assignment before becoming eligible to return
  • \n
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this role
