Key Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures with a high level of technical quality \n
- Operate nuclear medicine cameras and related equipment \n
- Obtain pertinent patient information and identify age-specific patient needs \n
- Maintain appropriate radiation safety and protection protocols \n
- Calculate study results and radioactive decay as required \n
- Prepare, handle, and document radiopharmaceuticals according to established procedures \n
- Maintain accurate records related to radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing, and disposal \n
- Start IVs and perform injections when applicable \n
- Maintain aseptic technique during procedures \n
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and communicate changes in condition to nursing staff or physicians \n
- Maintain a safe environment and follow appropriate patient identification and transport procedures \n
- Complete accurate documentation in the hospital information system \n
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and a clean, organized imaging environment \n
- Report equipment deficiencies or safety concerns to appropriate leadership \n
- Complete assigned procedures and communicate unfinished work to relief staff \n
- Assist in other areas of the department as needed \n
Requirements--Education
\n- \n
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program required for individuals hired after March 1, 2025 \n
Licensure & Certifications
\nOne of the following required:
\n- \n
- ARRT – Nuclear Medicine (NM) \n
- NMTCB – Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) \n
- American Heart Association BLS \n
Experience
\n- \n
- Previous Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience preferred \n
- Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures and techniques \n
- Experience operating nuclear medicine equipment preferred \n
Skills & Qualifications
\nThe ideal candidate will have:

- Knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, techniques, and medications \n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to technical quality \n
- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations related to nuclear medicine procedures \n

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively \n
- Ability to communicate professionally with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals \n
- Ability to learn and perform complex technical tasks \n
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with hospital information systems \n
- Commitment to radiation safety and patient care \n
Patient Care & Safety

- Obtain and verify patient identification using appropriate procedures \n
- Review pertinent clinical history and symptoms \n
- Maintain radiation protection standards \n
- Maintain aseptic technique \n
- Safely transport and monitor patients throughout procedures \n
- Remain with patients who may be at risk for falls or injury \n
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate clinical team \n
- Provide a safe, respectful, and compassionate patient experience \n
