American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift acute care hospital position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active MI RN license.
Details\n- \n
- Acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Tele unit \n
- Patient population ranges from adults to geriatrics with diagnoses including CHF, DM, Ortho, CP, Pneumonia, and COPD \n
- Unit manages insulin drips and Cardizem drips, no ventilators \n
- Patient ratio of 1:5 \n
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) \n
- Every other weekend required, occasionally every third weekend \n
- No floating required at this time \n
- Uses Pyxis and EPIC systems \n
- \n
- Active MI RN license required by start date (compact license not accepted) \n
- Minimum 2 years of experience required \n
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA preferred) \n
- EPIC charting experience preferred, with training provided during orientation \n
- Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs \n
- Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred \n
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team activation \n
- Experience with insulin drip titration and IV insulin protocols \n
- Wound care/wound vac experience preferred \n
- Proof of high school level education required \n
- \n
- Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and medication management \n
- Manage cardiac drips without titration responsibilities \n
- Utilize isolation precautions and PPE per facility protocol \n
- Support orthopedic patients including total joint replacement care \n
- Scrub color requirement is hunter green \n
- Free parking available on site \n
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply \n
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates \n
- Returning core staff must wait 12 months before reapplying and undergo HR verification \n
- RTO is limited to a 5-day maximum per assignment and must be submitted at time of application \n
