Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment requiring ARRT certification and 2+ years of comprehensive IR experience in a Level I trauma teaching hospital.

Details

  • Interventional Radiology unit within a Level I trauma teaching hospital
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • Choice of 4x10-hour day shifts (7:30 AM-6:00 PM) or 5x8-hour day shifts (7:30 AM-4:00 PM), schedule to be discussed during interview
  • One weekday call shift per week and one weekend call shift every 2 months
  • Reserved parking spot available for on-call shifts
  • Must float within scope of practice as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Equipment includes Siemens imaging systems and PACS

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of comprehensive Interventional Radiology experience required (more may be required if experience is not comprehensive)
  • ARRT-R certification required; ARRT Advanced certification preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • VA state license required if applicable, though pending licenses accepted (must be in-hand by the Wednesday before start date)
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • BSN preferred
  • Experience with abdominal/pelvic procedures including angioplasty, embolization, ERCP, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement, liver biopsy, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, radioembolization, stent placement, and thoracentesis
  • Experience with vascular studies/procedures including angioplasty, carotid stenting, upper/lower extremity angiography, cardiac cath lab procedures, cardiac stent placement, and PTCA
  • Experience with genitourinary studies/procedures including catheter/drain exchange, cystoscopy, embolization, gastrostomy, biliary drainage, nephrostomy, percutaneous stone extraction, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, and renal/ureteral stent placement
  • Neurological stent placement experience
  • Outpatient, OR, C-arm, and nephrogram experience

Additional Information

  • Perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures across abdominal/pelvic, vascular, genitourinary, and neurological specialties
  • Specialty-specific modules completed during orientation, recorded in Workday
  • Maximum of 40 hours RTO permitted per 13-week contract; all time off must be disclosed prior to submission
  • Any vacation time planned between sign date and start date must be disclosed to coordinate an appropriate start date
  • Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for this unit due to facility policy
  • Previous UVA Health employees must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval to be considered; external travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return after reaching that limit
  • First-time travelers may be considered if experience is comprehensive
