Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 1.5-2 years of cardiac cath lab experience and ARRT certification for a 13-week contract.

Details

  • Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab performing endovascular peripheral interventions and special procedures
  • Adult patient population
  • Uses Siemens equipment and PACS system
  • EMR is Cerner
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 5x8 hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM as needed
  • On-call requirement of 1 weekday and 1 weekend every 4-6 weeks, including holidays

Requirements

  • 1.5-2 years of experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and Special Procedures required
  • Experience with Electrophysiology (EP) Lab and Interventional Radiology preferred
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and ARRT certification required
  • ARRT CI certification preferred
  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • WV Medical Imaging License required to operate fluoro machines; license required if applicable
  • Pending license may be accepted for consideration but must be finalized prior to start (1-2 week ETA)
  • Proficiency in cardiac cath lab procedures including cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, laser-assisted procedures, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, PA line insertion, rotablator atherectomy, and temporary pacemaker
  • Experience with abdominal and pelvic procedures including angioplasty, embolization, IVC filter placement, and stent placement
  • Experience with upper and lower extremity vascular angiography studies
  • Skilled in vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
  • Proficient in accurate patient monitoring, equipment setup, prepping access sites, recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias, room circulator duties, and maintaining sterile field while scrubbing
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and use of Rapid Response team protocols
  • Must be able to perform medium work including frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs with maximum lifting of 50 lbs

Additional Information

  • Perform endovascular procedures under physician direction leading to diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease
  • Monitor patient hemodynamic status, document during procedures, and scrub in to assist physicians during endovascular procedures
  • Attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings, and complete required competency assessments and self-education on time
  • Scrubs provided
  • Non-billable Cerner charting modules required prior to start date, averaging 8 hours to complete
  • Candidates must maintain a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
  • Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last date of permanent employment before returning as a traveler
  • Current employees of the health system (including affiliated hospitals) are not eligible for travel contracts within that system
  • First-time travelers may be considered
