DIRECTOR OF NURSING (DON)

Job Title: Director of Nursing – PPECLocation: Orlando, FLJob Summary:

The Director of Nursing (DON) at a PPEC facility is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all nursing and patient care services. This position ensures high-quality care for medically complex children in a day health setting, aligning with the facility’s mission and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

• Participate in strategic planning and policy development as part of the PPEC management team.

• Supervise nursing staff, ensuring optimal performance, recruitment, retention, and professional development.

• Serve as a spokesperson for nursing matters within the organization and to external stakeholders.

Clinical Oversight

• Define and uphold standards of nursing practice.

• Assess and monitor the quality of care provided to patients.

• Verify staff credentials and ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.

Administrative Duties

• Develop and manage budgets related to staffing and services.

• Evaluate cost-effectiveness and quality of nursing services.

• Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to enhance patient care and staff training.

Quality Improvement

• Support and encourage research and improvement initiatives.

• Participate in internal committees and meetings to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Strong organizational and leadership skills.

• Deep understanding of nursing management and healthcare regulations.

• Proficiency in financial and resource management.

• Knowledge of health law, statistics, and research methodologies.

Education & Experience:

• Current Florida RN license.

• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a nursing environment, preferably pediatric or PPEC-related.

• PEDIATRIC EXPERIENCE work setting required 2 year's experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and move for prolonged periods.

• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
