Position Overview The Museum Guest Experience Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting retail operations within the museum gift shop. This position involves assisting guests with purchases, maintaining merchandise displays and inventory, processing transactions, and creating a welcoming and engaging experience for all visitors. Key Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and assist them with the selection and purchase of merchandise in the museum gift shop. Promote and sell designated products and services to customers. Make personalized product recommendations based on guests’ interests and purchasing needs. Demonstrate strong product knowledge and confidently answer customer questions regarding merchandise and inventory. Check inventory availability and assist with locating products as needed. Accurately bag and package customer purchases. Remove security devices from merchandise when applicable, fold clothing, and package items neatly. Process purchases and orders accurately using the store’s point-of-sale (POS) system. Process various forms of payment and accurately provide change when applicable. Represent and promote the organization’s mission, goals, products, and services. Research and gather information necessary to identify and resolve customer or operational issues. Accurately manage and maintain the cash drawer and related financial transactions. Set up and maintain display cases and adjust merchandise displays as needed. Stock and organize merchandise on shelves and throughout the retail area. Ensure merchandise is properly priced and that pricing information is accurate. Restock clothing and other merchandise that has been handled or tried on by customers, ensuring items are folded and presented neatly. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting retail environment. Provide friendly, attentive service that makes every guest feel welcomed, valued, and appreciated.
