Job Description
Put your passion for supporting students to work in a contract role assisting learners near Kansas City, MO. There are multiple positions supporting elementary and middle schools, with opportunities for both full school year and leave coverage. You’ll provide valuable 1:1 or small group support and help foster a positive learning environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in schools, particularly with students requiring behavioral or academic support
- Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments or be moved between classrooms as needed
- Current Missouri Substitute Certificate on DESE
- Willingness to complete specific fingerprint background checks (candidate covers fee)
- Reliable transportation to travel to assigned locations
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students’ educational and behavioral growth as directed by teachers or school staff
- Foster engagement, inclusivity, and a safe classroom atmosphere
- Implement learning activities and provide supervision in various settings (1:1, small groups, classroom)
- Assist with redirection, accommodations, and personalized support plans
- Communicate observations and progress to supervising staff
- Adapt quickly if assigned to different roles or locations throughout the year
Available openings include full-time roles through the school year and a leave coverage position starting as soon as possible. Schedules may vary and a flexible approach will be valued.
