Manufacturing Project Engineer

Shift: Days

Description:

  • We are seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer for a manufacturing facility in Jermyn, PA. The position is responsible for understanding project requirements, assessing models and drawings for manufacturing feasibility, and moving RFQs from initial inquiry through a complete and timely quotation. Success requires the ability to translate technical requirements into clear actions, coordinate multiple contributors, and keep customers informed as projects progress.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with die casting, CNC machining, tooling, metal manufacturing, or another high-volume production environment.
  • Ability to review and analyze SolidWorks models and engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of dimensional tolerances and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience coordinating technical RFQs, estimates, customer projects, or manufacturing launches.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers and internal teams.

Job Duties:

  • Respond to technical customer questions regarding new and existing die casting projects, part requirements, tooling, materials, tolerances, and secondary operations.
  • Review SolidWorks models, customer drawings, specifications, and revision information for completeness and manufacturability.
  • Lead the RFQ workflow by clarifying requirements, gathering cost and timing inputs, coordinating internal reviews, and preparing accurate, on-time quotations.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, production, CNC machining, finishing, purchasing, and outside tooling suppliers to align project requirements and deliverables.
  • Support design-for-manufacturability discussions, including alloy selection, die casting considerations, tooling approach, mold-flow input, machining needs, finishing, and packaging requirements.
  • Track project schedules, action items, tooling progress, samples, customer approvals, and launch readiness; communicate risks and changes promptly.
