Job Title: RN – OR Circulator (Robotics Experience Required)
Location: Bakersfield, California
Department: Surgery / Operating Room
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10 Hour Shifts
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

RN – OR Circulator (Travel Contract)

A hospital in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an experienced Operating Room Circulator RN for a 13-week contract assignment. This role requires strong robotic surgery experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment supporting a variety of procedures.

The RN will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative process.

Schedule
  • Day Shift

  • 4x10-hour shifts per week

  • Call Requirement: Up to 10 call days per month

  • Call schedule is created monthly and days will vary

If surgical volume is low at the specialty facility, nurses may float to the main campus approximately 2 miles away to assist with patient care. During these times, nurses may be asked to run a room or assist as a breaker to ensure full utilization of scheduled hours.

Required Clinical Experience

Candidates must have operating room experience with the following:

  • Da Vinci robotic surgery (General surgery)

  • Mako robotic procedures (Knee and Hip replacements)

  • Orthopedic spine procedures

  • Anterior and posterior spine surgeries

  • OR Circulating experience

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide coordinated nursing care for surgical patients following established standards of care

  • Perform patient assessments and evaluate clinical needs before, during, and after surgical procedures

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment

  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures and recovery expectations

  • Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care

  • Delegate tasks appropriately to surgical team members

  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned within the surgical department

Education & Experience

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Experience working in an acute care hospital setting

Required Certifications & Licensure
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
