About the Role:
Advanced Orthopaedic Associates of Wayne, NJ is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Summary Writer/Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing all medical records, extracting pertinent information, and composing a summary of same
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with administrative support and daily office operations
- Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and handle patient correspondence
- Review and transcribe medical notes, operative reports, and treatment plans
- Communicate professionally with patients, insurance companies, and third-party vendors
- Maintain and organize electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation systems
Requirements:
- Prior experience in medical writing, medical transcription, or healthcare administration preferred
- Familiarity with Orthopaedic or medical terminology strongly preferred
- Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical records management
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
