Job Description
Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - 1-on-1 Dedicated Support
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for a full-time, 1-on-1 position supporting a 17-year-old client with a 5-year-old cognitive level. This role offers the unique opportunity to make a deeply meaningful impact on a single individual's life by helping them build essential life skills, communication, and independence across home, school, and clinical environments.
Position Highlights & Selling Points
Consistent 1-on-1 Focus: Work exclusively with one client to build strong rapport and see direct, long-term progress.
Dynamic Work Environments: Split your time across center-based visits, home visits, and school settings for a diverse daily experience.
Full-Time Stability: Predictable weekday schedule with steady hours.
Supportive Environment: Collaborate closely with supervising BCBAs and supportive family members (a parent or legal guardian is always present during home visits per state guidelines).
Schedule & Shift Details
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Full-Time)
Flexibility Requirement: High schedule flexibility is required. Because the client may occasionally need to adjust or cancel sessions due to health reasons, candidates must be adaptable to environmental and scheduling shifts.
What You Will Do (Responsibilities)
Deliver direct 1-on-1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy tailored to a teenager with early-childhood cognitive needs.
Implement individualized ABA treatment plans and behavior reduction strategies designed by the supervising BCBA.
Foster the client's development in communication, social interactions, functional academics, and daily adaptive life skills.
Maintain strict safety standards using approved behavior management techniques.
Accurately track and record behavioral data and session documentation in real time.
Assist clinical staff with preparing session materials, visual aids, and learning tools.
Communicate professionally with caregivers and participate in regular BCBA supervision and coaching sessions.
Required Qualifications
Active RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification (or actively in the process of obtaining certification).
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license, reliable personal transportation, and current auto insurance (required for travel between home, school, and center settings).
High degree of patience, empathy, and adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications
Current CPR / Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Previous experience working 1-on-1 with individuals with developmental delays or dual cognitive/age profiles.
