Downhole Service Technician

The Downhole Service Technician will disassemble, clean, and reassemble downhole drilling equipment using manuals, procedures, and specialized tools while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. The role requires teamwork, technical troubleshooting, and accurate documentation to ensure efficient service operations.Schedule: 7 am - 4 pm with possibility of overtime or SaturdaysPay Rate: $25- $29/hr (DOE)Location: Houston, TX 77041,Key Responsibilities:Equipment Servicing: Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble downhole drilling tools per manuals and safety guidelines.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair defective equipment to restore functionality.Work Order Management: Use internal software to create/modify Service Work Orders and track maintenance progress.Reporting: Document and escalate potential equipment issues to engineering via detailed reports.Time Tracking: Log hours spent on each task daily for accurate job costing.Equipment Operation: Safely operate cranes, forklifts, hoists, jib cranes, and hand tools.On-Call Duties: Participate in rotating on-call schedule for after-hours/weekend shipping & receiving support.Meetings: Attend daily toolbox talks and monthly safety/performance meetings.Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE):Follow all QHSE policies to ensure a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace.Qualifications & Skills:Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience: Downhole tool experience is a plus, but not mandatory.Physical Ability: Lift 65+ lbs unassisted and work in a physically demanding environment.Technical Skills: Comfortable using computers/software for work orders and reports.Communication: Fluent in English (reading/writing) with strong teamwork skills.Flexibility: Willingness to work extended hours and participate in on-call rotations.Please note that there is a background check and a drug screening for the position.
