Position: Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Pay: $17-18 per hour
Shift: Day Shift (Approx. 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)

Shipping & Receiving Clerk Job Overview
The Lee Group is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk for a growing manufacturing and distribution facility in Toano, VA. This position plays a vital role in ensuring incoming and outgoing materials are accurately received, processed, and shipped. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable using computers, enjoys administrative work, and is willing to assist with warehouse operations, including loading and unloading freight.

Job Responsibilities of Shipping & Receiving Clerks
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments from external vendors.
- Verify received materials against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Accurately enter receiving information into the computer system.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between shipments and documentation.
- Process purchase orders and receiving paperwork.
- Coordinate internal deliveries throughout the facility.
- Prepare pallets and ensure shipments are properly palletized for transportation.
- Assist with loading and unloading motor trailers.
- Perform general warehouse and logistics support duties.
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving records.
- Support inventory accuracy and communicate issues to the appropriate departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications of Shipping & Receiving Clerks
- Multiple years of forklift experience required
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to read and interpret packing lists and purchase orders.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements of Shipping & Receiving Clerks
- Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent loading, unloading, and moving of materials.
- Work performed in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Must follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
