Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week Long Term Care assignment requiring 1+ year of OT experience in an LTC or rehab setting.

Details

  • Long Term Care (LTC) setting within a skilled nursing facility
  • Occupational Therapy unit with a caseload of approximately 7-12 patients per day depending on case mix
  • Group therapy sessions offered to support productivity goals
  • Dedicated documentation device typically provided per therapist
  • Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts with flexible start times between 6AM and 10AM
  • No weekend or on-call requirements
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Current OT license required for state of practice, if applicable
  • Compact license accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
  • LTC or Rehab setting experience required
  • 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develop appropriate plans of care
  • Provide rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, and modalities
  • Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions
  • Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans according to regulatory and clinical standards
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient progress and treatment plans
  • Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic system
  • Supervise occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students as needed
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and in-services
  • Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and state practice standards and code of conduct
  • Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) may be accommodated
