The Consumer Services Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service and support to consumers by answering inquiries, resolving concerns, processing requests, and ensuring a positive customer experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to consumer inquiries by phone, email, chat, or in person in a professional and timely manner.
Provide accurate information regarding products, services, accounts, policies, and procedures.
Resolve customer complaints and service issues while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Process orders, payments, account updates, refunds, returns, or other consumer requests as applicable.
Document customer interactions, transactions, and resolutions accurately in company systems.
Escalate complex or sensitive issues to the appropriate department or supervisor.
Follow company policies, procedures, and customer-service standards.
Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products, services, or solutions.
Maintain confidentiality and protect customer information.
Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve consumer issues.
Meet established customer-service, quality, and productivity goals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education is a plus.
Previous customer service, call center, retail, administrative, or consumer-services experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong listening, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working with computers, email, customer-service software, and other business systems.
Ability to handle difficult customers and resolve conflicts professionally.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
