Legal Support Specialist – Floater (Litigation & Transactional)
Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite minimum 4 days/week; hybrid eligible for 1 day remote after 30–60 days)
Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Overtime Eligible)
Compensation: $95,000 – $105,000 / year
Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile, proactive Legal Support Specialist to join our collaborative San Francisco team as a Floater. This dynamic role provides comprehensive administrative and legal support to multiple fee earners across both litigation and transactional practice groups, including key assistance with our incoming Fall Associates.

Key Responsibilities
- Document Management: Prepare, edit, format, proofread, and compare complex legal documents, transaction binders, and closing materials.
- Litigation Support: Draft shell pleadings, manage court filings, assist with the discovery process, and maintain matter-related documentation.
- Transactional Support: Coordinate closing documents, track deliverables, and manage transactional files.
- Administrative & Billing: Assist attorneys with billing activities, time entry, and expense reports using specialized law firm software.
- Team Collaboration: Provide floater support to various practice areas and attorneys across the firm as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education/Experience: High school diploma/GED required, with 3+ years of administrative or legal support experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Industry Background: Prior experience in a law firm, professional services environment, corporate administrative role, courthouse, or District Attorney’s office highly valued. Strong preference for candidates with prior litigation support experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with legal technology systems (e.g., NetDocuments, ChromeRiver, Intapp).
- Core Competencies: Working knowledge of legal terminology, strong organizational aptitude, and a proactive, resilient approach to multitasking.
Work Schedule & Flexibility
- Full-time schedule requiring direct support to firm and attorney needs.
- Minimum of 4 days per week onsite in our San Francisco office.
- Eligible to transition to a hybrid schedule (up to 1 remote day per week) after 30–60 days.
