CNC Lathe Machinist - GREAT team to work with!

Key Responsibilities

• Set-Up & Operation: Set up, program (or edit programs), and operate CNC Lathes with live tooling and multi-axis capabilities.
• Tooling & Workholding: Select proper cutting tools, establish work offsets, and design or adjust workholding setups for tight-tolerance parts.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, depth gauges) to ensure compliance with blueprints and GD&T specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve tooling, offset, or programming issues during production runs to minimize downtime.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with programmers, quality inspectors, and team leads to optimize cycle times, feed rates, and process efficiency.
• Maintenance: Perform routine daily maintenance on machines and maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC Lathes.
• Technical Skills:
• • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Strong familiarity with CNC Fanuc based controls
  • Ability to perform manual offset adjustments and edit G-code/M-code as needed.
• Tooling Knowledge: Deep understanding of cutting tool selection, speeds, feeds, and material behavior (aluminum, stainless steel, alloy steels, plastics, etc.).
• Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and a commitment to shop safety and high-quality production.
