What You'll Do

In this role, you'll lead accounting across Dovex's agricultural operations and real estate holdings, reporting directly to the CFO and partnering closely with operations, sales, and ownership.

Financial Reporting & Close

●      Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering timely, accurate, GAAP-compliant consolidated financial statements

●      Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules across all operating entities

●      Own multi-entity consolidations and intercompany eliminations

●      Serve as the primary point of contact on financial and tax reporting.

Agricultural & Orchard Accounting

●      Own crop cost accounting and orchard cost allocation methodology across owned and managed orchards

●      Partner with sales on reporting and ensure accurate accounting for crop inputs, harvest, and storage

Commercial Real Estate

●      Own accounting for rental income across Dovex's real estate portfolio, including lease billing, revenue recognition, and tenant reconciliations

●      Maintain property-level records for operating expenses, depreciation, and capital improvements, and ensure proper GAAP treatment of lease agreements, including ASC 842

Financial Planning & Treasury

●      Partner with the VP of Finance on annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

●      Own day-to-day treasury functions, including banking relationships and cash positioning

●      Build and present financial reporting packages for senior leadership and ownership

Internal Controls & Compliance

●      Design, implement, and maintain internal controls, with attention to seasonal revenue, inventory, and biological asset risks

●      Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including Washington tax requirements

●      Identify process improvement opportunities and lead best-practice implementation

Team Leadership

●      Build, lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals

●      Set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional growth

●      Manage workload planning through peak seasonal periods

What We're Looking For

Required

●      Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is a plus

●      Significant progressive accounting experience, including experience leading a team or function

●      Strong GAAP expertise across revenue recognition, inventory costing, and fixed assets

●      Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations

●      High proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

●      Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize well during peak periods

Nice to Have

●      Experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or other seasonal or commodities-based industries

●      Familiarity with crop cost accounting or orchard operations

●      Knowledge of Washington sales and use tax compliance

●      Commercial real estate accounting experience, including lease revenue recognition and/or ASC 842

●      Experience partnering directly with ownership or a board on financial strategy

Work Environment

This role is based at Dovex's headquarters in Wenatchee, Washington, in the heart of tree fruit country. You'll work in a collaborative, on-site environment with direct exposure to operations and close partnership with the VP of Finance and ownership.
