Position Overview

Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to support the development, optimization, and production of complex aerospace components. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for developing manufacturing processes, CNC programming, tooling, workholding, process documentation, and supporting new product introduction. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, technically capable, and comfortable working closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance, Tooling, customers, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ERP process routers, Bills of Materials (BOMs), process models, and manufacturing documentation to meet quality, cost, and customer requirements.
  • Develop 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC programs using Mastercam and SolidWorks.
  • Establish manufacturing processes and tolerances necessary to consistently achieve customer blueprint requirements.
  • Design effective tooling, fixtures, and workholding, including releasing fixture jobs and coordinating raw-material requirements with the Toolroom.
  • Develop work instructions for special processes and outside services in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Serve as the primary engineering contact for assigned New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, maintaining project schedules and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and delivery milestones.
  • Support existing/legacy programs through drawing updates, format changes, revision control, and process improvements.
  • Work directly with Production to develop and execute First Article requirements and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support for machinery, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers and suppliers when required.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction, operational excellence, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Support Engineering with quotations, manufacturing estimates, and production run-time analysis.
  • Respond quickly to manufacturing variances, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly to support decision-making, training, and production execution.
  • Perform additional responsibilities appropriate to the level and scope of the position as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a proactive, technically strong problem solver who can move comfortably between engineering, the production floor, and customer-facing activities. The individual should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting demanding aerospace schedules. A continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams are essential.
