Job Description
The Senior Cost Accountant plays a critical role in managing and analyzing costs associated with Aerospace manufacturing. Reporting directly to the Controller within a centralized accounting team, this position involves comprehensive cost accounting responsibilities across multiple departments. The role focuses on manufacturing costs, leading special projects for cost reduction, and ensuring compliance while utilizing both manual spreadsheets and ERP software for tracking and reporting. No travel is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed cost analysis and inventory valuation
- Prepare and monitor budgets with a focus on cost control
- Generate accurate financial reports and forecasts
- Conduct variance analysis to identify cost discrepancies
- Lead process improvement initiatives related to cost accounting
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments
- Support audits and special projects targeting cost reduction
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Aerospace or Industrial Manufacturing cost accounting
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Expertise in cost accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP or Oracle
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving abilities
